Emails are the ultimate Jack of all trades—you can observe audience behavior, educate, start conversations, sell your SaaS product, and so much more. But without clear goals and a strong strategy in mind, your emails will get lost in the inbox, or sent to the spam/junk folder. Or worse, deleted. So much for sales.
As your email copywriter, my job is to write each email with a goal in mind, whether that’s clicks to relevant links, replies to feedback requests, or even upselling from a free trial to an ongoing paid membership.

The Process
Here's a brief overview of what our first project will look like.
Typical timeline: 2-3 weeks
Assumes a short-to-medium sequence of 4-6 emails.
1. Discovery
Estimated time: 1-3 days
Includes the initial 30-minute call, sending over a proposal, going through questions/negotiations, and getting verbal/written confirmation to move forward.
Exact time will vary depending on your response time and how quickly you will finalize your decision.
2. Setting Up
Estimated time: 1-2 days
Includes signing the contract, receiving first payment, and setting up our collaboration in Asana (if needed).
This step is usually pretty quick once the green light is given.
3. Research
Estimated time: 4-6 days
Includes funnel review, brand tone analysis, and competitive angle research (if applicable).
This step varies, depending on how much client material is available, how many interviews I’ll be doing, and the interviewees’ availability.
4. Writing
Estimated time: 3-5 days
Includes outlining sequence structure, writing all the emails, editing, and quality assurance.
The more complex the project, the more time I’ll need for this step. Buffer time is added to ensure quality. (Writing is a creative process!)
5. Revisions
Estimated time: 2-4 days
Includes your reviews of the draft, your requests for changes, and a follow-up call (if needed).
Again, the exact time this step will take will vary depending on your response time.
6. Wrapping It Up
Estimated time: 1-2 days
Includes sending final deliverables, issuing final invoice, scheduling a follow-up consultation to review performance metrics, and/or extending the project.
Unless more work is added to the project, this step tends to move quickly.
Total Estimated Time: 2-3 weeks
While timelines vary by project, most one-off email projects take about 2-3 weeks from kickoff to delivery. Larger projects (or multiple deliverables) may take longer, but I’ll provide a tailored timeline during the proposal phase so you know exactly what to expect.

FAQs
I use Google Docs to deliver all my copy, including emails. Each email is clearly labeled with a subject line, email number, and its purpose (e.g., welcome, nurture, promo, sales, etc.). If I’m writing a full sequence, everything is presented in order so it’s easy to review and plug into your email platform.
For most projects, you’ll review the entire sequence at once. For larger projects (e.g., 7+ emails), we can break up the revisions process into smaller chunks and review in stages. You can leave feedback directly in the Google Doc or we can hop on a call (free of charge) to discuss your feedback in person. I’ll make sure you get the most out of each round of revisions.
I just write the copy. If you’re working with designers or developers, I’d love to collaborate with them so you’re getting the most value. If you’re using a platform like Marketo or HubSpot, I’d be more than happy to structure the copy to fit your preferences.
Research, baby. Lots of digging through your brand’s existing content (blog posts, emails, web pages, lead magnets, etc.) and keeping an eye out for phrasing, rhythm, language patterns, word choices and more to keep your brand voice consistent. If needed, I can send you a few tone/style samples to ensure we’re on the same page.
For legal reasons, and due to my clientele and juggling multiple projects as a freelancer, I do not manage the backend of my clients’ ESPs. (The last thing I want is getting your data confused with another one of my client’s!) My focus is on delivering well-written copy. That said, I’d be happy to work with your team to offer suggestions, brainstorm ideas, and create a strategy that works for you.
Generally, yes, since I usually send one finalized version of each email as the final deliverable. A/B variations for items like subject lines, preview text, body copy, or CTAs are all considered an add-on and will be priced separately from the main email sequence. Exact pricing will depend on the scope of our project and the amount of variations you’d like. I’ll make sure everything is clear during the proposal stage.
Email projects start at $50 per email, with a project minimum of 5 emails. Pricing may increase depending on length, complexity, and project scope. Additional fees may apply if other services are requested (like segmentation guidance, strategy sessions, content planning, etc.).
If your emails aren’t performing well, my top priority is getting answers. While I don’t offer refunds, I can take a look at performance metrics and adjust the copy within the agreed revisions rounds outlined in our contract. I do this free of charge if the performance data clearly indicates that issues are due to copy-related factors (like clarity, tone, messaging gaps, etc.).
Major rewrites will be considered a new project, due to the amount of work and research needed to figure out how to make the copy better. Projects like this are rare, but don’t worry. I won’t leave you hanging. I’m here to help you every step of the way.
